Personal notes: Cynotilapia zebroides "Metangula" is a dwarf mbuna. The "white top" is from Metangula, Mozambique. The males are quite colorful while the females are rather bland looking. They are a moderately aggressive cichlid that attains a size of only about 3 inches (8 cm) but they can hold their own against some larger mbuna. The afra is also known as the "dogtooth cichlid".
The picture below shows a juvenile male.
The pictures are of the single male I owned for a brief time. This is definately the most aggressive of my afra. This afra came with a used tank that I bought. I only kept him for about six months and then sold him to another hobbiest. The mature male is very similar to the Pseudotropheus kingsizei.
